2014 EIFTC Industry Tour

The 2014 EIFTC Industry Tour was held on Tuesday, March 25.  This was the fourth year in a row for the tour sponsored by the Elizabethtown/Hardin County Industrial Foundation Training Consortium (EIFTC) and the Elizabethtown Community and Technical College (ECTC). The event, for local government and elected officials, educators and member industries, provides insight into what type of jobs are in our community and the type of skills that are needed in order to gain employment.
The group gathered at ECTC for breakfast and a short program.  They then boarded a bus provided by the Elizabethtown Independent Schools and started their tour.  Industries on the tour this year were Flex Films, Mouser Cabinetry and Dow Corning.    Lunch was provided by EIFTC.

Participants agreed that this is a very good tool for educators and job placement officials to learn what types of skills are needed in order to qualify for jobs in the marketplace and will further assist in development of curriculum including soft skills, etc.
