A MESSAGE FROM EHCIF PRESIDENT RICK GAMES:
The last quarter of 2014, was again very busy. Governor Beshear proclaimed October as Manufacturing Month in the State of Kentucky. Mayor Edna Berger and Judge-Executive Harry Berry in-turn proclaimed October as manufacturing month in Elizabethtown and Hardin County.
The end of October brought the Governor to town to release $4.45 million of the Ring Road to Interstate 65 on the south side of Elizabethtown project. These funds will be used to purchase right of way for the extension. This completion will be a great tool in the recruitment of new businesses locating in the industrial parks.
After several months of meetings and several hours of data compilation, Hardin County received the designation as a Certified Kentucky Work Ready Community. The program assures employers that a local workforce has the talent and skills necessary to staff existing jobs and to master the innovative technologies new jobs will require.
As 2014 came to a close, the Elizabethtown/Hardin County Industrial Foundation sponsored an appreciation luncheon for the manufacturing/service providers located in the industrial parks in Elizabethtown, Hardin County. We feel very fortunate and blessed with the large number of good manufacturers in our community and look forward to working with many of them in 2015 as they continue to grow and prosper.
Again, I ask that if you feel there is anything that we at EHCIF can do to assist your company, please do not hesitate to give us a call. We plan to be in our new office space located at 233 Ring Road, Suite 150, around the first week of February. We are planning an open house a little later so that all can stop in and visit, however, if you find yourself in the area, please feel free to drop in.
