Gov. Beshear Celebrates Opening of Quest Industries in Elizabethtown
ELIZABETHTOWN, KY. (July 31, 2014) – Governor Steve Beshear today joined company officials and local leaders to cut the ribbon on a facility for Quest Industries in Hardin County.
Quest is a premier full service company in decorating technologies, specializing in glass containers for spirits, wine, beverage and cosmetics markets. The $10 million investment in Elizabethtown will create up to 45 new jobs.
“The locating of Quest Industries to the Commonwealth ties in perfectly with our thriving bourbon industry, as well as numerous other globally-known products made in Kentucky,” said Gov. Beshear. “I’m pleased to welcome Quest to the Commonwealth, and I know the company will find Kentucky to be the ideal location for its continued success.”
Quest acquired an 83,000-square-foot building on 10 acres at 900 West Park Road in Elizabethtown. The new location will help the company provide cost-effective delivery services across North America.
“Quest is delighted to be in Kentucky, and we’re looking forward to being a productive and responsible member of the community and serving our customers,” said Ravi Reddy, CEO of Quest Industries. “Gov. Beshear and his management team were very responsive and patiently worked with us to locate our plant in Elizabethtown. We especially appreciate the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development and Elizabethtown executives for their proactive support and guidance.”
Quest is a supplier to premium brands of global companies such as Beam Suntory and Maker’s Mark, Campari, Coca-Cola, Diageo, E&J Gallo, Sazerac and Buffalo Trace, Pernod Ricard, Stone Brewery, Owens Illinois and Saxco.
Quest has deep technical talent and has developed state-of-the-art decorating processes, which consist of high-tech screen print, multi-color precision spray coating, environmentally sustainable frost coating, metallic foils, heat transfer and waterslide decal applications, pressure sensitive labeling and appliques. The company has other locations in New Jersey and California.
To encourage the investment and job creation in Elizabethtown, the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority preliminarily approved the company for tax incentives up to $900,000 through the Kentucky Business Investment program. The performance-based incentive allows a company to keep a portion of its investment over the term of the agreement through corporate income tax credits and wage assessments by meeting job and investment targets.
“I am thrilled that Quest Industries is locating in Elizabethtown and making an investment in our community,” said Sen. Dennis Parrett, of Elizabethtown. “I welcome our new corporate friend to our industrial base and wish them many years of prosperity.”
“I appreciate Quest Industries’ decision to invest this much in our community and to help the dozens of families that will benefit from these jobs,” said Rep. Jimmie Lee, of Elizabethtown. “I’m also pleased with the added diversity this company brings to our corporate community and have no doubt that it will succeed here. I want to thank everyone involved for helping to make this possible.”
“The addition of Quest Industries to our manufacturing community is very exciting,” said Elizabethtown Mayor Edna Berger. “This company will further diversify our manufacturing base by adding a new manufactured product to our area. The production of high-quality decorative containers is considered cutting-edge technology, and we feel that Elizabethtown can supply this company with a skilled and qualified workforce. We want to welcome Quest to our community and are looking forward to a long and productive relationship with them.”
“We are very excited to welcome Quest Industries into our community’s industrial base, said Hardin County Judge-Executive Harry Berry. “The addition of Quest Industries’ screen printing, labeling, and coatings for bottle decorating is a natural fit to support the bottling industry already located in our region. The job creation resulting from the addition of new business partners to our community is essential to keeping our economy strong. We look forward to an excellent relationship with Quest Industries as they develop and grow their business for decades to come in Hardin County.”
