Governor Beshear Releases Funds for the Ring Road Extension to I-65

Elizabethtown, KY — October 30, 2014
Governor Steve Beshear was in Elizabethtown yesterday to release $4.45 million of the $26 million project to extend Ring Road to Interstate 65 on the south side of Elizabethtown.  These funds will be used to purchase rights of way for the extension.
The completion of Ring Road to I-65 will be of great benefit to the businesses located in the T. J Patterson and Hughes Industrial Parks.  Manufacturers/Service Providers will have a direct route to I-65 greatly enhancing the shipping/receiving route to their facilities.  The completion will also be a great tool in the recruitment of new businesses locating in the industrial parks.
Jimmie Lee, State Representative for District 25 stated that if the project is not held up by inclement weather or legal challenges, then completion could be as soon as late 2016 to early 2017.
