January Manufacturer of the Month: Altec Industries

Elizabethtown and Hardin County are home to many manufacturers that are innovative leaders in their industries as well as vital contributors in our region’s economy. EHCIF’s Manufacturer of the Month is an opportunity to recognize these companies and to increase awareness of the manufacturing activity happening every day right here in the Elizabethtown area.
 ALTEC INDUSTRIES
Altec Industries joined the Elizabethtown community in 1997 and has undergone multiple expansions since then, growing to employ approximately 850 people.
Altec is a leading provider of aerial equipment for the electric utility, telecommunications, contractor, lights and signs and tree care industries. When you see linemen working on high power lines, for example, chances are you’ll see the Altec logo on their bucket truck.
Altec’s world-class manufacturing and engineering operations are located in two buildings in the T.J. Patterson Industrial Park. In addition, the Altec Kentucky Service Center, offering a full scope of maintenance and repair services, opened in 2016.
The company also is a valued Elizabethtown area employer because of its visibility in our community. In 2017, Altec’s general manager, Chad Sarver, stepped up to serve as chairman of the United Way of Central Kentucky’s annual campaign. In addition, Altec has been an active partner in initiatives such as the Elizabethtown-Hardin County Industrial Foundation Training Consortium and the Lincoln Trail Chapter of the Kentucky Federation of Advanced Manufacturing Education.
