Metalsa Elizabethtown plant expands, construction to begin on North Black Branch Road
Metalsa’s Elizabethtown plant is home to one of the largest operations throughout the entire company and is readying itself for further expansion. The expansion, which requires temporarily rerouting traffic on North Black Branch Road, will create about 250 new jobs in Elizabethtown.
As a Tier 1 supplier to top automotive manufacturers and supplier excellence award recipient, Metalsa has been recognized by its customers for excellence in quality and overall operations. It is this excellence that has led to further development for the Elizabethtown plant as the business grows.
Over the past year, Metalsa Elizabethtown has begun executing expansion projects that include new operation locations and office spaces, one of which will be an addition to the current location at 750 North Black Branch Road that will require a brief traffic pattern reroute. Crews have already begun preparation for the construction, which will involve a 2,000-foot stretch of North Black Branch Road in front of the Metalsa facility. Work will include moving utility lines and installing a pedestrian tunnel under the road that will connect the new parking lot to the existing building. Traffic will be minimally rerouted to a new roadway running alongside the construction area starting on approximately Oct. 23.
The duration of this road work is currently estimated at two months with an approximate end date of Jan. 1, after which traffic flow through the area will be returned to its former state with no major impacts. If you wish to avoid the construction area altogether, be mindful that Altec Drive and Pritchard Parkway are alternate routes that will remain unimpeded through this process.
Additionally, the location at 101 Magnet Drive in Elizabethtown now includes both office space for the Regional Headquarters and expanded production space. With these developments will come increased operational capacity, which will create about 250 new jobs for the local community in 2019 and 2020; all of which will be posted on the career section of Metalsa.com.
