President's Message–Rick Games
2016 continues to be a busy year for EHCIF. We just announced a new company’s plan to build a distribution facility in Elizabethtown and bring with it more good jobs to our area. This is keeping with our mission established 60 years ago—creating jobs for the community.
We are very pleased and excited to welcome Eurotrol to the T. J. Patterson Industrial Park and look forward to a great working relationship with company officials. Eurotrol will build a 10,000 square foot facility on North Black Branch Road. They expect to break ground this year and anticipate expansions in the future.
We are also excited to announce that Ark Investment Partners has just purchased a site located at 109 Ring Road, just behind McDonald’s on US 62, for the development of a hotel and restaurant complex. Preliminary plans propose a four-story, 112-room hotel on half the site. The hotel brand, or flag, has not yet been identified. The owners plan to develop the other half of the site for a restaurant.
Ark Investment Partners develops branded hotels, luxury senior apartments, assisted living facilities and student accommodations.
Please refer to our news releases for more information about these two projects.
Expansions continue in the industrial park. New buildings are going up, parking lots are overflowing and traffic is much heavier in the area. All are good signs for local industries.
At the close of July, we will be saying goodbye to a man that has been an integral partner in assisting us with recruiting industry to our area–Tommy Wheatley. Tommy is the Regional Program Manager, Kentucky Career Center-Lincoln Trail. He will be retiring from his position with state government at the end of the month. Tommy has assisted us with workforce information and has been available to meet with prospects and discuss workforce trends in the Lincoln Trail area. We wish Tommy a peaceful retirement and look forward to working with his successor.
