Rick Games Receives the James J. Coleman Community Professional of the Year Award
Richard (Rick) Games, President and COO of the Elizabethtown-Hardin County Industrial Foundation was honored by the Kentucky Association for Economic Development (KAED) and East Kentucky Power at the KAED Annual Conference held at the Marriott River Center in Covington, Kentucky. The James J. Coleman Community Professional of the Year Award presented by East Kentucky Power recognizes practitioners who have made significant and/or innovative contributions to the field of economic development and their service area during the past year. The award was presented to Rick by Kevin Osbourn from East Kentucky Power.
Rick’s nomination for this award included recommendations from various community leaders and colleagues. “He has embraced the regional concept of working with fellow ED professionals on Kentucky United and he understands that what is good for Hardin County is good for Kentucky,” said Kim Huston, President of the Nelson County Economic Development Agency. Brad Richardson, President/CEO of the Hardin County Chamber stated, “Rick has, for over a decade, distinguished himself in the business recruitment, retention and expansion business as the consummate professional through his successes and commitment to his organization, community and state.”
Joe Prather, former Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Elizabethtown/Hardin County Industrial Foundation said, “Rick is a person who “stays ahead of the curve” and has realized the necessity to change the economic development process to remain competitive in an ever-changing environment. He works closely with our Board of Directors, our City and County officials, and has the utmost respect of each and every one who is involved with him in making our mission a success.”
“As President and COO of the Elizabethtown/Hardin County Industrial Foundation for the past twelve years, Rick has worked tirelessly to boost our community’s economic development efforts,” stated Greg Jenkins, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Elizabethtown/Hardin County Industrial Foundation. “He has led the development of the 1,550 acre Glendale Mega Site which is now positioned as one of the premier certified, shovel-ready industrial tracts in the country,” said Jenkins.
Present at the presentation of this award were family members, several of his friends, colleagues and mentors.
