September Manufacturer of the Month: AGC Automotive Americas

Elizabethtown and Hardin County are home to many manufacturers that are innovative leaders in their industries as well as vital contributors to our region’s economy. EHCIF’s Manufacturer of the Month is an opportunity to recognize these companies and increase awareness of the manufacturing activity happening every day right here in the Elizabethtown area.

AGC Automotive Americas is a global leader in automotive glass, providing laminated and tempered glass to many of the automotive world’s most prestigious brands. Using innovative products and the latest technology, the team at AGC in Elizabethtown has helped provide enhanced safety, comfort and style in an untold number of vehicles throughout the U.S. and across the globe. Automotive manufacturers depending on the products made at the Elizabethtown plant include Ford, Mercedes Benz, Lexus, Toyota, Tesla and more.

AGC was one of multiple automotive suppliers to make Elizabethtown its home after Toyota located in Georgetown. Construction of the facility — located on U.S. 62, in the T.J. Patterson Industrial Park — began in 1988. Mass production launched in April 1989. Since that time, AGC has succeeded and grown, invested in modern equipment and processes, and tripled its footprint.

We’re proud AGC has invested time and again in Elizabethtown, not only in its facility but also in our community through its support of local nonprofits, an active role in Elizabethtown-Hardin County Industrial Foundation Training Consortium and more.
