The BEAM Kentucky Export Promotion Grant Available

Jeanine Duncliffe, Special Advisor for Export Development, from Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer’s Office was the guest speaker at the Hardin County Facility Managers Meeting on Wednesday, January 16th.   She brought information to the group concerning small business export activity and specifically grants available through the JPMorgan Chase Foundation for small business exporters.   The BEAM Kentucky Export Promotion Grant is available to small businesses that are currently exporting and want to expand export activities or to small businesses that are preparing for future export activity.  This grant can be used by companies wanting to identify best markets, participate in trade shows and trade missions and find the right international business partner.  Funds can also be used for business development services to ready companies for exporting.  Grant assistance is available up to $4,500 and preference will be given to companies in the BEAM (Bluegrass Economic Advancement Movement) counties; however, small businesses in the surrounding counties can also apply.   The deadline for submission of the grant application is February 28, 2014.  A complete application and guidelines are available at www.Louisvilleky.gov/beam.
