Welcome Soudal to Elizabethtown

One June 10, 2014, Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear, local dignitaries, community leaders, and others gathered in Elizabethtown to welcome a new manufacturing company that has chosen Elizabethtown as its next site of operation.
Soudal Holding NV a company based in Belgium, has acquired the assets of Accumetric, LLC. In addition to keeping the 85 existing employees of Accumetric, Soudal plans to expand the operation by investing $21.2 million in the project and hire an additional 77 employees at the Elizabethtown Site. The company will continue to operate under the Accumetric name.

In addition to welcoming Soudal Holding NV to Elizabethtown, EHCIF also recognized the contribution of Accumetric to our economic community. Greg Jenkins, Chairman of the Board of the Elizabethtown/Hardin County Industrial Foundation said, “This is a great day for all the usual economic development reasons…keeping 85 jobs we presently have and gaining 77
new jobs and a state of the art facility, but I want to mention something I think makes today really special and unique in my experience. Today we should celebrate two companies. One, Accumetric, was started here 44 years ago by folks born and raised in Elizabethtown. It has grown to be a company with international reach serving over 2,500 customers on every continent. Accumetric is a home-grown entrepreneurial success story. And, now, they have brought us Soudal, a Belgian company started 48 years ago and still family owned which today boasts end-users in over 130 countries worldwide and 11 manufacturing sites on 4 continents.”
Jenkins further stated, “In 2011, Soudal was named the winner of the Ernst & Young ‘Entrepreneur of the year’ award for all of Belgium. Without question, today we celebrate the joining of two international, entrepreneurial power houses.”
