WL Plastics to Build Additional Facility
The Elizabethtown-Hardin County Industrial Foundation is excited to announce the development of a new WL Plastics facility that will bring new jobs to Elizabethtown.
Construction on the new 60,000 square foot facility is forecasted to begin in 2022. This $17 million capital investment will be located near the current WL Plastics manufacturing facility at 2151 West Park Road in Elizabethtown.
“We’re thrilled about this development which will bring more than 40 new, full-time jobs to Elizabethtown,” said Mayor Jeff Gregory. “Our region has a skilled workforce and is top rated for job growth. I’m certain WL Plastics will find continued success as they expand services in our community.”
“Our primary mission is to create jobs and elevate Elizabethtown as the top destination for advanced manufacturing, distribution and industrial companies,” said Greg Pawley, Elizabethtown-Hardin County Industrial Foundation Board Chairman. “We welcome this new facility, not only as a promising sign during this challenging time, but also as a tribute to Hardin County’s thriving business environment.”
WL Plastics is the premiere North American manufacturer of high performance, high density polyethylene pipe for the energy, industrial, and municipal water markets. WL Plastics Corporation CEO Mark Wason said his company is excited about developing an additional manufacturing facility in Elizabethtown.
“This location in Elizabethtown has been a terrific fit for our business and regional customer base, and we see the potential for expansion as further opportunity for us to tap into the talented workforce this community has to offer,” Wason said. “Like so many others, our industry has not been immune to the economic downturn caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. However, as markets and demand for our products continue to recover, we will be looking for additional investment opportunities to help us capture that demand. We believe Elizabethtown is well-positioned to assist us in those efforts and we look forward to continuing our investigation into the opportunities this location has to offer.”
