February Manufacturer of the Month: Metalsa

Elizabethtown and Hardin County are home to many manufacturers that are innovative leaders in their industries as well as vital contributors to our region’s economy. EHCIF’s Manufacturer of the Month is an opportunity to recognize these companies and to increase awareness of the manufacturing activity happening every day right here in the Elizabethtown area.
Metalsa, with an Elizabethtown presence dating back to 1994, has enjoyed tremendous growth in recent years. Their Elizabethtown facility has expanded and in the last four years the company has doubled the number of jobs it provides to our families, friends and neighbors.
With a team of more than 1,800, Metalsa is Hardin County’s largest employer in the manufacturing and automotive sectors. Overall, it is the fourth largest employer in the county, behind only Fort Knox, Hardin County Schools and Hardin Memorial Health.
Part of a global, industry-leading company, the Elizabethtown plant on North Black Branch Road manufactures chassis frames for the Ford F-150, Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator vehicles.
In addition, Metalsa is a valued partner in our region’s workforce development efforts. The company is a member of the Elizabethtown-Hardin County Industrial Foundation Training Consortium; provides pathways to in-demand careers for students at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College through the Lincoln Trail Chapter of the Kentucky Federation of Advanced Manufacturing Education; and offers registered apprenticeships that lead to highly skilled careers.
