Elizabethtown and Hardin County are home to numerous manufacturers that are innovative industry leaders as well as vital contributors to our region’s economy. Elizabethtown-Hardin County Industrial Foundation’s Made in Elizabethtown feature provides an opportunity to recognize these manufacturers and increase awareness of the products produced right here in the Elizabethtown-Hardin County region.

Metalsa, which opened its Elizabethtown plant in 1994, produces automotive parts for an extensive portfolio of auto manufacturers. The Elizabethtown facility produces parts primarily for Ford Motor Co. and Rivian.

Based in Mexico, Metalsa maintains a global presence, including 20 plants in eight countries. With over 10,000 collaborators, Metalsa produces front and rear bumpers, brake dust covers, fuel tanks, chassises, box cross members and trailer hitches for pickup trucks; side rails for commercial trucks and chassises for commercial buses.

Throughout the years, Metalsa has earned a large list of awards, recognitions and certifications, including a World Excellence Award from Ford in 2019 and an Outstanding Quality Performance Recognition from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles in 2018.

The Elizabethtown plant is the largest Metalsa facility in the U.S., with over 1,800 employees and contract jobs. The facility houses stamping, roll-forming, robotic weld assemblies and electrophoretic painting process technologies. At the plant, chassis frames, sub-frames, stamped components and service parts are produced. In addition to the Elizabethtown plant’s primary location on North Black Branch Road, Metalsa’s footprint in the community also includes a facility on Magnet Drive in Elizabethtown.

Last January, Metalsa announced the addition of 300 new jobs at the Elizabethtown plant. That July, an additional 150 new jobs were announced.

At Elizabethtown-Hardin County Industrial Foundation, we’re proud to recognize Metalsa as a member of our thriving industrial community. To learn more about the organization or to view a listing of current career opportunities, please visit metalsa.com.
