March Manufacturer of the Month: Gates Corporation

Elizabethtown and Hardin County are home to many manufacturers that are innovative leaders in their industries as well as vital contributors to our region’s economy. EHCIF’s Manufacturer of the Month is an opportunity to recognize these companies and increase awareness of the manufacturing activity happening every day right here in the Elizabethtown area.

One of the largest manufacturers of automotive and industrial belts and hoses, Gates Corporation’s presence in Elizabethtown dates back to 1964.

Located on College Street Road, the company’s Elizabethtown facility is home to the production of highly engineered products that use the latest technology to ensure reliable, lasting performance. Locally manufactured products include belts for Harley-Davidson motorcycles and Polaris motorcycles and snowmobiles.

The Elizabethtown facility also produces the Gates Carbon Drive System. Carbon Drive belts are a stronger, cleaner, quieter replacement for bicycle chains. The system is used in a growing number of bicycle models and styles, particularly in bike share programs overseas.

Over its 50-plus year Elizabethtown history, Gates Corporation has been a wonderful addition to our community, and we’re thankful for the company’s investment in our local economy as well as its support of valuable community programs.
